Responsible Land and Water Use
Next to breathable air, the most precious resources on planet earth for humans are arable land and potable water. That is to say, good farm land and clean drinking water. They become more precious every day, and it's predicted that most wars of the future will be over farm land and clean water. Much of the problems of the so-called Third World have been attributed to the removal of peasant farmers from the best land to allow the large-scale farming of luxury items like bananas, coffee, tea, beef and more for the First World. It takes many times more water and vegetable protein to produce meat, and as clean water becomes more scarce, changes will have to be made in how we think about food.
