Recipes for Natural Household Cleaners

Alice's Wonder Spray - All Purpose Cleaner
Recommended by the Women’s Resource Cancer Center.
From Clean House, Clean Planet by Karen Logan.
Ingredients:
A clean 32 ounce trigger spray bottle
2 teaspoon borax
4 tablespoon vinegar
1/2 cup home soap or Dr. Bronners
Essential oil of lemon, tea tree or lavender
Hot water (enough to fill bottle)
Instructions:
Fill bottle 1/4 full with hot water then add borax. Shake to completely dissolve borax. Next add vinegar, home soap, and 20-25 drops essential oil. Fill the rest of the bottle with hot water. Gently shake mixture. Ready for use.
**It's a good idea to clearly label your bottle as "cleaner"
Basic Sink Cleanser
An all-natural scrubbing powder for your sink, tub, and shower.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup baking powder
1/2 cup vinegar
Instructions:
Mix together and use on sponge. Rinse well.
Citrus Floor Cleaner
Ingredients:
1 gallon hot water
2 tablespoons liquid soap
15 drops orange essential oil
8 drops lemon essential oil or 1/4 cup lemon juice
Instructions:
Mix together and get to work!
Dust to Dust Furniture Polish

This is as effective as any store-bought spray and cost only 30 cents a bottle.
Ingredients:
A clean 16 ounce trigger spray bottle
2 teaspoon olive oil ( vegetable oil)
Essential oil of lemon, tea tree or lavender
1/4 cup white distilled vinegar
Hot water (enough to fill bottle)
Instructions:
Mix 20 drops of essential oil, olive oil, and vinegar with hot water in bottle. Gently shake mixture. Ready for use. You have to shake this occasionally as you are using it for the oil separates in the water.
**It's a good idea to label your bottle as "cleaner"
Earth Scrub Tub and Tile Cleaner

You can use this cleaner really anywhere in your house. Common places include the tub, bathroom sink or on kitchen counters. It also works well on floors and garbage cans – basically on any surface that becomes greasy or grimy.
Ingredients:
A clean 16 ounce flip-top bottle
1 2/3 cups baking soda
1/2 cup of liquid soap
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons vinegar
Instructions:
Mix baking soda and liquid soap in a bowl. Dilute with the water and add the vinegar last. Stir until the lumps are gone. If you can pour it into the container easily you have the right consistency. If it's too thick, add more water. Use funnel to pour into bottle. Keep the cap on bottle because this mixture will dry out. Shake well before using. For future uses, add more water if cleaner seems dry.

Fabric Freshener

Ingredients:
Your favorite essential oils
Instructions:
Add fresheness to baby’s clothes with a few drops of essential oil in rinse water or put a few drops on towel and throw in the dryer.
Glass Cleaner
All natural, powerful, AND inexpesive!
Ingredients:
1 cup white distilled vinegar
1 cup distilled water
3 drops essential oil of your choice
Instructions:
Mix all ingredients together. Pick an oil you'd like, or just skip.
Silver Tarnish Remover
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon baking soda
6 cups of warm water
1 sheet aluminum foil
Instructions:
Line a large bowl with aluminum foil (this is not to protect the bowl; it is part of the recipe.) Mix salt and soda with warm water in the bowl. Place silver items in mixture and soak for one hour. Dry and buff with a soft cloth.
