Today I’d like to introduce you to one of my favorite products in our stores that are made by a company called Hilary’s Eat Well. Her veggie burgers are tops! My latest go-to is her Adzuki Bean Burger with Green Chili and Cumin.
These burgers are great for any time of day. Serve it as a burger on a bun with any number of condiments. If you’re not a fan of buns, try it bun-less with a slice of onion, tomato and a smear of Dijon-style mustard. You can also have it atop a salad instead of chicken or salmon. Try one with BBQ sauce. I like mine with our Triple Crown BBQ sauce. Wrap it in lettuce, a pita, or a tortilla/wrap along with finely diced vegetables such as cucumber, peppers and green onions. Try it with roasted vegetables. The possibilities are as endless as your imagination.
Breakfast options could be to top it with fresh fruit and/or an egg. I haven’t tried this yet but I can imagine it. Put it on an English muffin.
You can prepare your veggie burger in four ways: toast it, pan fry it, grill it, or bake it. Sorry, but it’s a no-no on the microwave action (not recommended). These frozen patties cook up in about 5 minutes or less. Is this not an ideal snack option? This is fast food you can probably get your kids to eat. Dress it with their favorite toppings. Or use a cookie cutter after you cook it to give it a fun shape (and call it a cookie). I toast mine in my toaster oven and they crisp up nicely.
